Museum of Tyrolean Farm Houses, Kramsach

Many dedicated employees and helpers have succeeded in transferring 14 farms from various valleys in Tyrol to the farmhouse museum and carefully integrating them into the new surroundings.

The documentation of rural culture, which has shaped the face of this country and which has been threatened by great economic changes, is the objective of this museum. Traditional farming practices, architecture, equipment, and fences show ways of life that have been largely suppressed and gradually forgotten.

Großglockner & Großglockner alpine road

The pyramid-shaped Grossglockner is located right behind the slightly smaller Kleinglockner (3,770 m), separated by a saddle-like formation known as the Glocknerscharte. The first ascent was in 1800 but victory and defeat accompanied other expeditions. The Pallavicini Trough is named after Margrave Alfred Pallavicini, who met his death on the Glockner in 1886.

Krimmler waterfalls

With their impressive waterfall drop of 380 m the Krimml Waterfalls are the fifth highest waterfalls in the world. With approx. 350,000 visitors each year they are one of the most visited tourist features in Austria. A hiking trail built by the Austrian Alpine Association (OeAV) makes it possible to get very close to this breathtaking nature spectacle, affording sensational views.
